The Congress, free registration, is an unavoidable social event in which all aspects of cancer pathology were addressed: from their situation, incidence and perspectives of evolution, to the most human aspects, trying to banish all the myths that still exist. They exist around him.

The Spanish Cancer Association (AECC) brought together more than 1,100 people at the Valencia Conference Centre on 8th and 9th February 2019, with the aim of providing a 360-degree overview into cancer and the latest advances in research.

The 1st Valencian Region Congress for People with Cancer and their relatives brought together renowned specialists such as the oncologists Ana Lluch, Vicente Guillem, Adela Cañete and Antonio Llombart Cussac. The event was also attended by public health specialists, psychologists, researchers, nutritionists, and oncology nurses as well as by patients and their families who shared their experiences.

The objectives of this event included dealing with all aspects of cancer from the current situation of the pathology, its impact, and the forecasts for how it will evolve, to the most human aspects, trying to dispel all the myths that still exist around it.

In parallel to the scientific programme, meeting points were set up for people and family members who are going through the process, centring on complementary activities, such as skincare and care for caregivers, cognitive stimulation and social resources.

The AECC also set up a telephone number for people who wanted to ask questions and share their experience.
