The Conference Centre participates in Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
On 24 and 25 September, our building will be lit up in gold
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and every year, the Valencia Conference Centre steps up its charitable work by participating in several initiatives that pay tribute to the children who are fighting this illness. This year, it has joined an international initiative with the active participation of the European Society for Paediatric Oncology and Childhood Cancer International. The slogan of the campaign this year is "Gold for Hope: cure more and cure better." It has also joined #QueNoSeCuelen, an initiative which has also been organised by CCI and promoted by the Spanish Federation of Parents of Children with Cancer and Aspanion, which aims to raise public awareness about the possible after-effects that cancer has on childhood survivors.
On 24 and 25 September, the Conference Centre, along with other emblematic buildings around the world, will be lit up in gold, as a symbol of childhood cancer patients, in order to raise public awareness and pay tribute to the kids and teenagers who are fighting cancer, their carers, healthcare workers and the scientists who are conducting research into this illness.
In addition, from 21 to 25 March 2022, the Centre will be hosting the European Society for Paediatric Oncology’s (SIOPE) Annual Meeting, where oncologists, surgeons, nurses, scientists, researchers, parents and patients will be meeting to exchange experiences, share knowledge and advance research into paediatric cancer.
