Conferences are for springtime

Congress

Medical, scientific, technological and business congresses pack the Valencia Conference Centre’s spring schedule.

In springtime, Valencia’s colours change and visitors can see for themselves the wide variety of different coloured plants that flower in many parts of our city.

In the same way, congresses also bloom in the spring. Alongside autumn, this is the peak season for events of this kind, which helps to reduce the seasonality of tourism in the city.

A quick look at the Valencia Conference Centre’s spring schedule shows there are around ten congresses coming up, 50% of which are international events whilst the other 50% are domestic meetings. They will be attended by 7,000 delegates leading to more than 21,000 overnight stays in Valencia.

Medical congresses lead the list of meetings on the horizon. They include the EKS Arthroplasty Conference bringing together the top specialists in knee surgery; the Spanish Society of Paediatric Clinical Immunology, Allergy and Asthma (SEICAP) Congress which will address trending topics in clinical immunology and interact with Valencian society through workshops and a “Health Fair” for patients and relatives; the 45th National Congress of the Spanish Rheumatology Society (SER) which will attract 1,500 practitioners to Valencia; and the 32nd Spanish Society of Arteriosclerosis Congress where the latest breakthroughs in arteriosclerosis diagnosis and treatment are to be presented.

No less important is the technology sector which will take centre stage in June with the 7th Global 5G Event and the European Conference on Networks and Communications. These two congresses will gather 1,000 5G technology experts from around the world and turn Valencia into the World Technology Capital. These meetings will be showcasing the most recent developments in these communications networks, including cloud and virtualisation solutions, management technologies and vertical application areas.

In addition to medicine and technology, the Conference Centre’s portfolio also dips into the business and scientific arenas over the next two months. Forthcoming forums include the AECOC Fruit and Vegetable Congress, the preeminent event for companies in the Spanish fruit and vegetable industry’s agri-food chain; the 9th Spanish Federation of Removal Companies (FEDEM) Conference which will address the future of the industry and take stock of its activities; and the 11th International Conference on Porus Media and Annual Meeting whose InterPore international society is coming to Valencia after calling in at New Orleans in the USA on its last outing.
