15th Spanish Oral Surgery Society (SECIB) Conference
The programme of the 15th version of this key event for oral health practitioners from all over Europe included the 4th Valencian Association of Oral Surgery (AVCIB) Congress, the 2nd SECIB Youth Congress and the 15th SELO (Spanish Society of Laser Dentistry and Phototherapy) Congress.
After about 15 years, this conference came back to Valencia, bringing together the leading figures in odontology and oral surgery to address topics such as the latest advances in peri-implant diseases and dental reconstruction. The event had a large exhibition area with 48 stands and also featured four workshops, 250 presentations and 22 papers.
The organisers decided to add to the event by holding moderated round tables attended by Spanish and foreign specialists such as Dr Adriano Piattelli, a key researcher in the field of implantology and honorary PhD from the University of Valencia, and Dr Ignazio Loi, the developer of the Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique who presented a new approach in prosthetic tooth restoration with consequent improvements in appearance.
The Spanish Oral Surgery Society is a highly respected scientific society in Spain whose more than 1,800 member dentists and oral medicine practitioners mainly work in oral surgery and implantology. It is committed to innovation, quality and excellence in its profession as shown by the scientific activities and conferences it has held to date.
The SECIB’s purposes include contributing to scientific improvement and continuous learning for its members; promoting developments in surgery with special emphasis on research in oral surgery; advising public bodies and private companies about oral surgery; partnering universities in scientific and technological development; and driving cooperation with other Spanish and international societies to set up joint scientific and professional development and excellence programmes.
